It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Abe, W8HVG on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Amateur Radio has lost one of it's finest ambassadors. His story, written in his own words, is linked from the button on the left of our home page: W8HVG Bio.

We are planning a cleanup day at our main site. We could use your help in this endeavor.

What we need to do:

Brush clearing
Weed whacking
Cleaning out old parts - Scrap items to be removed (you’re welcome to anything that tickles your fancy, otherwise it’s going to the scrap yard) – radio chassis, cabinets, etc. – great parts for beginners and those who need to fill their scrap box. –Those with pickup trucks or trailers that would be willing to haul to the scrap yard would be very much appreciated – please contact me (president@w8hvg.org) on this also.

What to bring:
PPE – Gloves, safety classes, etc.
Weed whackers – gas or manual
Mowers
Wire brushes – suitable for scraping a concrete building
Paint brush(s)

We will have some of these items on hand, so feel free to just bring yourself.

I do need to know how many people and what they are bringing so we know what supplies to bring.

Lunch will be provided – also need a count.

The Big Rapids uplink equipment has malfunctioned again. The northern links are temporarily down while the equipment is being worked on. Thanks for your patience.

The Big Rapids uplink equipment has been removed for repair. It had been causing all northern links to stay in a key-up mode for hours. The remote sites affected by this outage are shown in the Link Status grid.

Preparations are well under way for the 2010 IRA Hamfestival.

This year's event will be held on Saturday, June 5 at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. Hope to see you there!
